Executive Leadership Opportunity - General Services DepartmentThe General Services Department is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to drive complex projects, manage multi-functional teams, and enhance operational efficiency. This executive-level position works closely with the Director of General Services to advance departmental initiatives, optimize resources, and strengthen cross-departmental collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead & Inspire - Direct large, multi-functional teams, fostering a high-performance culture and aligning efforts with organizational goals.
- Strategic Oversight - Manage complex projects with a strong understanding of government regulations, procurement practices, and operational strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Build and maintain strong relationships across departments and with external stakeholders to drive initiatives forward.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation - Apply strategic thinking to develop solutions that improve efficiency, service delivery, and overall effectiveness.
- Financial & Budget Management - Oversee project funding, resource allocation, and budget planning to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Operational Expansion & Centralization - Drive new initiatives and expand centralization efforts by increasing departmental responsibilities and optimizing processes.

Qualifications
REQUIRES a Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, engineering, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a senior or executive operational leadership role within the public sector, or a large complex organization; or ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in public sector management.
Preference given to those with a Master's degree. Other Information

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
