Continuum of Care (CoC) Administrative Coordinator position will be the second position in the Wake County Government’s newly established CoC Lead Agency Department which serves as Collaborative Applicant, HMIS and Coordinated Entry Lead Agency for the Wake County CoC (NC-507).
This position will work in the office approximately four days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of the time. Please note that this position requires attendance at in-person meetings, some of which may be held during evenings or weekends (approximately once per month).
CoC Coordination - Act as the primary liaison for the Continuum of Care, fostering strong relationships with members, governance boards, and committees.
- Coordinate key activities, including meetings, HUD funding applications such as CoC NOFO.
- Oversee the annual reporting, including the Annual Point-in-Time Count (PIT), Housing Inventory Count (HIC), System Performance Measures (SPMs), and Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA).
Communications & Partner Engagement - Manage communications through the CoC website, newsletters, listserv, and other media to engage community partners and expand membership.
- Facilitate meetings with a wide range of partners, including housing providers, coalitions, and people with lived experience of homelessness.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure the full participation of CoC members, including those with lived experience, and work to remove barriers to their engagement.
Monitoring & Compliance - Maintain CoC record-keeping systems, ensuring that confidentiality and regulatory standards are met across all programs.
- Monitor program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, conducting site visits and audits as necessary.
- Review program performance and financial reports, ensuring all grantee activities are in line with CoC policies and regulations.
About Our TeamThe County’s role as CoC Lead Agency will operate under a Memorandum of Understanding with the CoC for a period of five (5) years. At the end of the term, the program will be evaluated to determine if and how services will be transferred. The CoC Lead Agency is accountable to the CoC Governing Board consisting of representatives from local government, homeless and housing service providers, people with lived experience of homelessness. The CoC Governing Board is the policy-setting and decision-making body for the Wake CoC, which is responsible to the Wake CoC Membership for fulfilling its Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-defined responsibilities. The Wake CoC Governing Board is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination of resources, and evaluation of results for the community.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associate's degree
- Two years of job-related experience

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Experience in the fields of human services, affordable housing, public service, community development, planning, communications and/or a related topic
- Experience working with HUD funded programs, including but not limited to Continuum of Care and/or Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Considerable knowledge of the program and issue area
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration, local government and business administration
- Some knowledge of personnel policies and practices
- Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials, and the public
