Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Finance Division located at 414 E. 12th St.
Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.*Hybrid telework available after 6 month probationary period and at the discretion of the supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation, analysis, and administration of the department's annual budget.
- Monitors expenditures and revenues to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Provides financial forecasts and conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develops budget models to evaluate the financial impact of operational changes.
- Prepares detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
- Analyzes financial data to support decision-making and policy development.
- Identifies cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to enhance financial efficiency.
- Ensures adherence to financial policies, regulations, and internal controls.
- Supports audits by compiling necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Develops and maintains budget procedures to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Works closely with department leadership, finance teams, and other stakeholders to align budgetary goals with operational needs.
- Provides financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Assists in the preparation of funding proposals and grant applications when applicable.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, organizational/development psychology, project management/or geography and 3 (OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 5) years of professional experience in corporate/municipal finance, research, accounting planning, project/program management, or geographical information systems analytics.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
