    The Position

    Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health; Community Health Nursing has an opening for a full time Administrative Assistant 1 in Winnemucca. This position will be responsible for providing clinic administrative support, which includes direct customer service, answering phones, scheduling appointments in electronic health record (EHR), patient intake and discharge, clinic deposits, reporting and data collection, clinic records retention, and HIPAA and safety. The incumbent supports administrative activities such as maintaining a variety of reports including outreach and education reports; motor pool reports; data entry in electronic health records and WebIZ (online immunization record.) The incumbent possesses basic knowledge in operating a computer, xerox, & processing clinic deposits.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
