    Position Description
    Provide transportation services for patients of the TTUHSC SON Combest Abilene Community Health Center, Abilene, Texas.

    Major/Essential Functions
    Patient Transportation Coordination:
    • Coordinate and transport patients between their homes and the clinic and to other TTUHSC health care facilities as needed.
    • Review and update the daily transportation schedule.
    • Review and complete the Hold Harmless Form with transported persons and promptly upload it to the appropriate online EMR platform.

    Vehicle Operations and Safety:
    • Provide a step stool for passengers as needed.
    • Comply with local traffic regulations.
    • Prepare and submit daily vehicle inspection reports and mileage logs as per TTUHSC protocol.
    • Report delays and accidents according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Record and submit gas and other vehicle-related expenses following institutional and departmental requirements.
    • Conducts daily vehicle inspections.

    Communication:
    • Communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally, and in writing.
    • Use the department-issued cell phone to communicate with patients utilizing the ACHC transportation services.
    • Communicate effectively with patients to meet their needs.
    • Review EMR daily to coordinate the transportation schedule.

    Administrative Duties:
    • Assist in handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and patient registration.
    • Pick up and deliver mail and other items between clinics or other TTUHSC locations.
    • Operate the Van Mobility Operating System safely and professionally.
    • Understand and follow instructions.

    Additional Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the clinical administrator.

    These functions encompass the core responsibilities, skills, and competencies required for the role, ensuring the smooth operation of transportation services and front office duties at the health center.
    Vehicle Operations and Safety:

    Required Qualifications
    High school diploma or GED. Operator's License appropriate to the level of vehicle being operated.
