    This position will be assigned a domicile within the Eastern Region which includes field offices in the counties of St. Louis (City & County). The offices within this region include Districts 7B, District EP, District ERV, District 8 Central, District 8 North, and District 8 South. This region also includes the institutional parole office located at MECC.

    This position is responsible for the management of the Eastern Region including 6 district offices and 1 institutional parole office. This position establishes and achieves organizational goals through planning, administration, resource management and evaluation of outcomes to align with the vision, mission and strategic plan of the DOC. Organizational skills require coordinating activities with other divisions, departments and agencies; as well as internal activities/special projects. The Regional Administrator is knowledgeable of personnel issues and facilitates personnel development by utilizing performance processes, coordinating hiring and promotional process and addressing complaints and investigations. The Regional Administrator shall possess the necessary communication skills to share information, enhance community partnerships and act as a liaison with other divisions, departments and agencies. A working knowledge of developing and managing a budget and allocating resources is a key component of this position. This position requires continuing education, attendance at training sessions and participation in conferences to expand professional growth.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Ten or more years of supervisory or management experience in adult probation and parole or corrections casework.

    (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, that includes earned credit hours in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, education, public/business administration, or related field, may substitute for up to four years of the listed experience at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of six years of the listed experience is required)

    All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed.

    Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.

    The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
