    Examples of Duties

    Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance and Technology Services Manager plans, organizes, and directs the work of staff engaged in the maintenance of the District's mechanical and electrical equipment at its treatment plant, pump stations and technology services programs activities and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of workgroup programs. These responsibilities include development of all personnel, equipment, and material resources needed to effectively and economically carry out the program. The workgroup has 29 full time positions.

    This is a senior management level classification responsible for a wide variety of comprehensive functions and/or programs related to the maintenance of District equipment and IT functions. The Maintenance and Technology Services Manager serves as a part of the District’s Executive Team, coordinating activities with other workgroups and external organizations to advance the goals and the mission of the District.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Develops and implements predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance for treatment plant and remote pump station equipment, including pumps, blowers, centrifuges, boilers, and generators.
    - Oversees technology services, project planning, and workflow management; manages contractors and consultants for IT projects.
    - Coordinates IT support, including system installations and upgrades, and oversees IT master plan implementation.
    - Works with Operations and Technical Services teams on Capital - Improvement Projects design and implementation.
    - Promotes a safe work environment, ensures safety training, and participates in safety events, investigations, and inspections.
    - Advises the General Manager and Board on technical and management matters.
    - Represents the District at meetings and task forces; participates in strategic planning and budget management.
    - Manages recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and staff development.
    - Mentors and supports coaches in applying quality principles and ensures staff training and knowledge continuity.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    A bachelor's degree in engineering/or related field, or technical certifications related to the position.

    Ten years increasingly responsible experience in maintenance, repair, construction, and asset management work for a public or private agency utilizing equipment typically found at a wastewater treatment and pumping facility or similar system; three years' experience must have been in a supervisory/coaching capacity, with at least two years at a level comparable to or higher than a Facilities Maintenance Coach.

    Progressively responsible experience in managing networked personal computer client server systems environment is highly desirable.
