Why you’ll love this position:The Fuel Device Safety and Accuracy Program provides a variety of services to ensure consumer protection and public safety across Missouri. Under this program, petroleum and propane fuel dispensers located at service stations, marinas, airports, bulk plants, pipeline and barge terminals and other retail/wholesale locations are inspected and tested for accuracy. Propane/petroleum fuel delivery truck meters are also checked for accuracy. We are looking for a hard-working individual to join our team!
- Working Monday thru Thursday (four 10-hour days)
- Testing and verifying accuracy of propane metered dispensers and propane delivery truck meters with a volumetric pressure vessel prover.
- Inspects metering systems that have been rejected prior to placing them back in service.
- Prepare and submit activity, expense, inspection, and investigative reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Daily travel including overnights within assigned region (state vehicle provided) up to 3 nights per week.
Minimum Qualifications: - Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must possess a valid MO Driver's License.
- Experience in a field related to the storage and handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas is preferred, but not a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications: - Considerable knowledge The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbook 44.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently complete work assignments, work independently, and follow established department program procedures.
- Ability to learn, explain and enforce program specific statutes and regulations.
- Ability to make complex calculations and respond to complaints and investigations in a timely manner.
- Ability to work in a potentially hazardous environment, and communicate effectively with other employees, wholesalers, retailers, and the general public.
