    The Role:
    The Senior People and Culture Generalist will partner with leaders and key stakeholders to create and implement business-aligned strategies. This position will cultivate strong Ambassador and candidate relationships and proactively serve the LVCVA in Ambassador relations, training and development, and recruitment functions.

    What You’ll Do:
    Keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive.

    • Service: Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers and serve as a primary contact for assistance with questions and problem resolution in all areas of responsibility. Serve as a resource for Ambassadors on policy and procedures with a consistent focus on talent retention.
    • Ambassador Relations: Execute Ambassador and labor relations functions, including performance management, dispute resolution, investigations, coaching, and disciplinary procedures. Ensure prompt communication of outcomes and follow-up on action items. Maintain accurate records and files while preparing professional correspondence, reports, and related materials.
    • Training and Development : Facilitate New Hire Orientation and various standard training programs using engaging visual aids. Implement training program schedules, enroll participants, track attendance and training records, and monitor and report program effectiveness through solicited feedback. Update training materials and coordinate outsourced training as needed.
    • Recruitment Functions: Lead the pre-employment and onboarding functions, including criminal background checks, drug and physical screening, and reference check processes. Maintain systems and audit processes for efficiency and data integrity.
    • Compliance and Reporting: Create reports on metrics, trends, and key indicators; monitor employment law updates; and provide management with actionable recommendations.
    • Projects: Serve as a project lead. Arrange meetings with appropriate parties, track progress, and measure the performance of all assigned projects.


    What We’re Looking For

    • High School Diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field is preferred
    • Minimum three years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist in multiple human resources disciplines
    • Must have:
      • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
      • Prior experience and knowledge of Human Resource Info Systems (HRIS) and talent management systems
      • Analytical and critical thinking skills
      • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups, i.e., managers, Ambassadors, and customers
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including comprehension and effective listening
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suit, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
      • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
      • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Demonstrates a commitment to valuing differences among individuals and being inclusive
    • Human Resources Professional Certification from either the Society for Human Resources Management, the Human Resources Certification Institute, or the International Public Management Association is preferred
    • Prior experience with labor contracts is desirable

    Total compensation at the Authority consists not only of the salary paid, but also of the various benefits offered, such as group health and life insurance and retirement plan.
