    The Role:

    The Convention Services Manager oversees the daily operations and execution of assigned conventions and convention meetings at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This position provides exemplary service to meet and exceed customer expectations.

    What You’ll Do:

    Keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive.
    • Manage assigned large events and all deliverables and serve as the liaison between the facility user and all LVCVA departments.
    • Monitor setup and compliance with permit and licensing requirements and address inquiries from stakeholders regarding room usage, rigging, placement of specialty equipment, and show floor food preparation.
    • Work with building partners for placement of services and hours of operation offered to clients.
    • Prepare and verify building resumes and facilitate site visits for optimal facility use.
    • Direct and monitor internal departments to prepare the facility to “show ready” status. Approve traffic plans with the client, communicate concurrent building activity, and arbitrate outdoor shared spaces.
    • Conduct pre/post event meetings to focus on improving the client experience. Anticipate and mitigate potential facility issues and implement appropriate Emergency Action, Business Resumption, and Crisis Management strategies. Address complaints and make quality recommendations for improvements.
    • Coordinate and inspect the maintenance of the facility in conjunction with building activity.
    • Collaborate with the Operations Division and Sales Department to provide input for capital improvements, annual budgets, design consultants on building projects, and changes to room inventory/rental rates.
    • Assist with developing and disseminating facility Direct Marketing Campaign (DMC) information related to facility improvements.
    • Compile all client lease invoice information, net square footage, and credit/debit memos, and maintain client portfolio of all events-related information. Follow up on invoicing and past-due balances as needed.
    • Maintain a strong business relationship with local community partners.


    What We’re Looking For
    • High School diploma is required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
    • Minimum of two years of event management experience is required; convention experience is highly preferred
    • Knowledge of automated work order scheduling and planning is highly desirable
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Ability to support and respect the various cultural and ethnic values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of a diverse workplace
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups, i.e., managers, clients, customers, and the general public
    • Ability to maintain complete knowledge of company and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
    • Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Must have a valid Nevada driver's license at the time of appointment and keep it current during employment
