Performs responsible administrative and managerial work involving emergency communications for the Orlando Police Department (OPD) or Orlando Fire Department (OFD). Assists in the management of the Communications Center and is responsible for the dispatching, teletype, and complaint desk functions, depending on the area of assignment. Work is performed under the direction of the Communications Manager. Performance is reviewed through conferences, evaluation of reports submitted, and quality of services provided by Communications Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field and two to three (2-3) years of supervisory experience in emergency communications, preferably in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: Must be an Emergency Medical Dispatcher. or able to obtin within six months of employment
FIRE DEPARTMENT: Must meet polygraph and background standards appropriate to non-sworn employees. Must pass police background check which includes polygraph.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
