Why you’ll love this position:This is a Senior Java Developer position within the Applications Development Team. This position will require a high level of understanding of Java for solving complex problems. This position will focus on application security, validation, evaluation, and implementation. Works on and solves highly complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Provides highly complex technical support in relevant field of discipline. This position may also be accountable for serving as project lead and/or providing technical direction to lower-level team members.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

- Develop new web Java applications using the Scrum framework.
- Refine and estimate Product Backlog Items.
- Write and update technical specifications.
- Coordinate and work with agency staff on open tickets and requests.
- Mentor and coach less senior team members.
- Existing application support.
- Java, J2EE(JSP, Servlet, EJB), DB2, SQL, HTML, CSS, MVC, Bootstrap, Web Application Security, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Struts.
- Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of information technology experience.
- Skill in prioritizing, responding to changing priorities, and multi-tasking.
- Skill in collaborating with and providing guidance to staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Passion for process improvement.
- Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
