Highlights:Missouri Capitol Police is the primary full-service law enforcement agency for the 72-acre state office building campus known as the Capitol Complex and state office buildings located in Cole County. Capitol Police provide service to over 18,000 state employees and numerous visitors throughout the year.

Assist sworn personnel perform general police duties, processes and operations for the safety of the people and security of the buildings through the enforcement of state laws. We serve a community that includes state legislators, elected officials, and state employees to ensure safe conditions exist for officials to fulfill their oath of office to all Missourians.
The Department of Public Safety is seeking a Capitol Police Dispatcher who believes in providing quality service with a strong work ethic and accountability to aid in achieving our mission.
Job Responsibilities: - Operate a multi-channel, two-way radio system.
- Maintain radio traffic and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) entries of officer activities, including the collection of racial profiling information.
- Monitor municipal, county and state highway patrol radio traffic.
- Monitor various security and safety alarm systems; dispatch as appropriate.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and determine appropriate action to be taken.
- Request emergency law enforcement, fire and medical assistance as needed.
- Operate a visual display system of security cameras throughout the Capitol Police jurisdiction and property.
- Maintain Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) certification and schedule department personnel for MULES training when necessary.
- Manage the records filing system and checklist for accessing, disseminating and fulfilling law enforcement records requirements.
- Provide information and assistance to the public and state employees.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reports and submit to the Communications Sergeant for review.
- Perform various other communications and clerical functions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent. Prior police dispatch experience and MULES certification preferred. Applicants will be subject to a comprehensive background investigation by the Missouri Capitol Police encompassing employment and criminal history.
The hours for this position will be 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
