    Utility Service Worker I $17.04 - $21.72

    Utility Service Worker II $18.05 - $23.01

    WATER RECLAMATION DIVISION: IRON BRIDGE LOCATION

    TREATMENT PLANT: Performs semi-skilled work in the construction, renovation, modification and repair of Wastewater treatment plants. Assists mechanics and electricians in the maintenance and preventative maintenance of treatment under adverse environmental conditions. May be exposed to raw sewage. Work is performed under the supervision of a Crew Leaser, Mechanic, or Electrician and reviewed by direct observation, while in progress, and upon completion.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Utility Service Worker I

    WATER RECLAMATION: Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Six (6) months of experience in any of the following areas desired:

    • Conducting inspections
    • General construction
    • General or preventative maintenance
    • General maintenance (Industrial or automotive equipment experience preferred)
    • Sewer system evaluation
    • Pump station operation/maintenance, or repair activities
    • Cleaning or repair

    NOTE - Additional qualifications may be required, depending on the area of assignment. See below:

    • Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
    • Valid State of Florida Driver's License
    • Tanker Endorsement
    • Wearing a respirator face plate. Must be comfortable with having no facial hair between the face and sealing surface of a respirator face plate

    Utility Service Worker II

    TREATMENT PLANT: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant maintenance or preventative maintenance activities; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a ladder progression from a Utility Service Worker I position. Must pass an annual respirator physical and any other state mandates; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate and obtain and maintain a security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of hire. Florida Driver's License is required at time of application.

    Some positions may require one (or more) of the following to be obtained:
    • Obtain and maintain security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of hire
    • Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months of hire
    • Respirator physical may be required

    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
