job descriptionThe duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Working in conjunction with clerical personnel engaged in support of district
management and field personnel. Responsibilities include but are not limited
to: timekeeping duties, which consists of gathering, evaluating, coding, and
inputting daily time and handling personnel activities for approximately 100
employees, including odd-shift, continuous shift, MEA, 9/80, 5/40 and those
subject to callouts; preparing PANS, LOAs, TRCAs, periodic increases, and
interacting with Disability and Worker’s Compensation Division. Other duties
may include, but are not limited to: processing damage reports for
Department, and outside agency equipment, requesting paving, saw cutting,
and slurry, collection and data entry of vehicle time (T&E); performing WMIS
& CCB data capture of meter and service installations; Trouble Board duties
consisting of operating a two-way radio and relaying water trouble information
to field crews, creating, updating and completing job status in eRespond,
and/or CCB, and communicating with Department personnel, field personnel,
and consumers. Through cross training and desk rotation, staff may be
assigned duties including typing and maintaining various reports; processing
Dig Alert requests; DOT requests and transactions, sorting mail, tracking and
releasing invoices for payment, processing utility permits for excavations, or other related duties, in addition to the above described duties.
May beassigned other work for cross-training purposes to meet operatingneeds and perform other related duties as required. Training may beconducted at various Water Distribution District locations. Overtimemay be required based on operating needs.Skills, Knowledge and Ability:
- Knowledge of LADWP policies and procedures, Working Rules, MOUs, Civil Service Rules, and general office practices pertaining to timekeeping, personnel, and record keeping procedures.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and effectively with outside agencies, as well as Department management and other personnel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HRMS, eRespond, CCB, RCAS, and WorkTech is desired.
A valid California Class C Driver's License is required and must be maintained
during the course of employment.
