    Job Summary

    Performs responsible public contact work involving scheduling park activities and enforcing park rules and regulations to ensure that City of Orlando parks are clean and safe. Provides routine information to tourists and the general public. Patrols parks and performs frequent inspection to ensure vandalism and safety hazards are prevented. Prepares daily reports on park conditions, repairs, park attendance, and incidences involving accidents or injury. Work is performed primarily outdoors and the employee may be subject to extreme weather conditions and insects. Work involves nearly constant walking and patrolling of City of Orlando parks. The employee is required to work rotating hours and have varying days off. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Lake Eola Park Manager. Performance is reviewed through evaluation of inspection reports, condition of parks, direct observation, and results obtained.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years experience in public contact work required, preferably involving security or enforcement duties; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass a police background investigation that includes a polygraph examination.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
