    Job Summary:

    Perform a variety of accounting and analysis functions, related to budgeting, forecasting, and analytical processes that support the broadband organization's financial health and inform and validate business strategy. Including, but not limited to: data gathering and analysis; strategic financial planning; short and long-range financial planning; and financial analysis and reporting, financial quality assurance and control.

    The salary range for this position is $84,000.00- $113,400.00 per year with a hiring range of $84,000.00 - $98,700.00, depending on qualifications and experience. First Reading of applicants to take place on Monday, 2/24/25 at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T.

    Essential Functions:
    • Provide advanced financial analysis for management, including strategic financial planning, modeling for financial opportunities, financial risk analysis and financial impact of changes to existing policies.
    • Data gathering and analysis for rate and marketing studies, business scenarios, and product positioning.
    • Leverage financial data to assess market trends, competitive positioning, and operational performance.
    • Calculate overhead to recover costs (including labor, vehicle, material, and other indirect costs) for billable services provided to broadband customers and developers.
    • Prepare and maintain the short and long-range financial plan for broadband utility. Incorporate budget and projections for all elements of revenue, operating and maintenance (O&M) expenses, capital improvement program (CIP), and borrowing requirements.
    • Develop revenue projections of broadband services and products.
    • Confirm and validate recommendations on business decisions based on broad knowledge of best practices and data-supported financial analysis
    • Provide assistance to Broadband Division staff in all matters financial and accounting. Provide guidance on budget for the short and long-range financial planning and find solutions to financial and accounting opportunities. Provide analysis and reporting to help staff make more well-informed decisions.
    • Perform forecasting to advise management on the best business practices to meet goals, business metrics, and business strategy performance.
    • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for staff and management.
    • Review and edit budget vs. actual variance analysis and narrative assessment reports. Validate and understand variance root causes, develop recommendations for course of action, and review and communicate impacts and results with upper management and cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Analyze, interpret and communicate complex data utilizing broad accounting and finance conceptual knowledge. Analyze revenues and expenses and correct any errors. Primary responsibility for completing financial reports to outside agencies. Assist in the annual audit process by preparing year-end audit work papers. Work with external auditors as required.
    • Perform month-end and year-end financial analysis, reviewing and validate all transactions to assure that revenue and expense transactions are tracked correctly. Coordinate with other departments and divisions.
    • Conduct in-depth profitability and cost analysis for various business segments and projects.
    • Monitor budget execution

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • Bachelors degree including major course work (30 or more hours) in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Degree related requried.

    Experience:
    • 5 years progressively responsible experience applicable to financial analysis, long- range financial planning, business plan review and design and general accounting required.
    • Strong working knowledge of Excel and experience with a computerized accounting software required.
    • Some managerial accounting experience desired.

    An equivalent combination of education and or experience may substitute for the education requirements on a year for year basis.

    Certifications:
    • Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong working knowledge of the practice and theory of strategic, including short and long-range financial planning, scenario analysis and budgeting.
    • Working knowledge of the theory,principles, methods and practices of general accounting.
    • Create and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets.
    • Working knowledge of computerized accounting software.
    • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    • Frequent m inimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
    • Frequent e xposure to routine office noise and equipment.
    • Occasional e xposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
