    • Job Summary
    • Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Technician will ensure residential and commercial adherence to City Policies/Ordinances as well as TCEQ compliance regarding environmental issues.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Performs bacteriological sampling at TCEQ required sites in an accurate and timely manner.


    • Maintains adequate inventory of analyzer parts, sampling supplies, and equipment for field analysis.


    • Assures compliance with State and Federal regulations concerning laboratory methods and procedures.


    • Enforces and executes the oil and grease program and backflow prevention program; conducts grease trap inspections and offers compliance assistance to facilities that have expired backflow testing.


    • Monitors water quality in the distribution system and storage tanks in an accurate and timely manner.


    • Inspects, cleans, and maintains chlorine monitors on all storage tanks.


    • Maintains sampling equipment, field logs and ensures calibration of equipment.

    • Performs analyzer troubleshooting and repairs as needed; conducts weekly analyzer preventative maintenance.
    • Performs annual testing on City owned backflow preventions assemblies to ensure TCEQ compliance.
    • Prioritizes assigned duties and accomplishes them in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Works in a cooperative and professional manner with other departments when the need for field analysis occurs.
    • Assists in coordination of special sampling events with water and wastewater departments.
    • May assist the environmental Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Manager with inspections of pretreatment customers.


    Qualifications

    Associate's degree in chemistry, Biology or a related Field. Two years’ experience in performing water and wastewater treatment duties. Must have or be able to acquire within six (6) months, a BPAT License from TCEQ. Must have or be able to acquire within six (6) months, a TCEQ Class C Water Distribution License. Must have a valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.

    Special Requirements
