This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO.
- Enforce the requirements of the Missouri Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program (GVIP)
- Audit vehicle emission inspection data: Conduct data analysis/research using spreadsheets, databases, and emission inspection software to identify and document occurrences of emissions inspection fraud.
- Occasionally conduct overt audits of licensed inspections stations in the St. Louis area.
- Work with the GVIP contractor to ensure proper implementation of the program.
- Coordinate with Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Revenue, and others in the Program to compile and report GVIP data.
- Discuss basic environmental issues and concerns with representatives of public and private interests.
- Coordinate and negotiate with citizens and regulated facilities to gain compliance with environmental programs, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Develop complex enforcement plans and monitor progress toward compliance.
- Perform other related work as assigned.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related field and 0-4 years of direct work experience in environmental regulatory field.
