What you will do: - Oversee the work of docket clerks in scheduling workers’ compensation cases for the Western Region (Kansas City and St. Joseph).
- Supervise docket clerks, including the hiring and training processes, coaching and disciplining, performing monthly and bi-annual reviews and timesheet approvals.
- Complete applicable leadership/supervisory training and implement training during exercise of duties.
- Accountable for the preparation and scheduling of telephone conferences, cases, dockets, and/or administrative hearings.
- Responsible for reviewing and distributing court documents to attorneys and parties, contacting attorneys and parties, and preparing court documents.
- Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, answer emails, scan, and index court documents for electronic storage.
- Retrieve and enter confidential information in the Division’s database including entries, withdrawals, and dispositions.
- Draft, proof, and edit correspondence as requested by administrative law judges.
- Prepare docket materials for the administrative law judges.
- Staff the front desk, answer telephone calls, and greet customers.
- Order supplies, maintain postage meter, and perform other duties as assigned.
All you need for success:Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Desired Attributes - 5+ years of docket clerk experience.
- 2+ years of experience working in a law office, governmental agency, court of adjudication office or workers’ compensation knowledge.
- Knowledge of the principles of office management and supervision.
- Ability to interpret state statutes, regulations and department regulations and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple calendars and schedules.
- Experience using Microsoft 365, Adobe Pro DC, Webex or similar software/platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and data.
