The Assistant Swimming Pool Manager classification is covered by the Pay Floor Rate and pay starts at $29.45 hourly. The salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. The Swimming Pool Manager classification is covered by the Pay Floor Rate and pay starts at $29.45 hourly. If selected for the position, these hours and dates will be MANADATORY as part of the candidate's work schedule. These positions are part-time, unbenefited with a limit of less than 20 hours per week or less than 1,040 hours per year. There is no guarantee of hours or longevity. All programs adhere to Santa Clara County, Public Health guidelines to ensure the health and well-being of staff. Face coverings and Personal Protective Equipment are provided. Staff may assist with daily health screenings, cleaning, and sanitization in City programs following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Assistant Swimming Pool Manager: The Assistant Swimming Pool Manager participates with the Swimming Pool Manager in the management and supervision at a City operated swimming pool facility and performs related work as required. This position may be required to supervise other pool personnel in the absence of the Swimming Pool Manager and may perform lifeguard activities and instruct in all categories of swimming classes.
Responsibilities for this position include, but may not be limited to:
- Assisting the Swimming Pool Manager in the planning, organizing and direction of recreational swimming and swim instruction programs.
- Participating in the supervision of lifeguards and other pool personnel.
- Participating in the in-service training program for all personnel covering policies and procedures of the City and safety responsibilities of the pool operation.
- Performing the duties of a lifeguard whenever necessary.
- Participating in the management of a swimming pool facility, including the establishment of necessary procedures for the collection of fees, preparing attendance reports, accident reports, and other routine financial reports on a regular basis.
- Preparing work schedules and assignments as delegated by the Swimming Pool Manager.
Swimming Pool Manager: The Swimming Pool Manager position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and supervising swimming and swim instruction programs at a City operated swimming pool facility.
Responsibilities for this position include, but may not be limited to:
- Enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities, including personnel management and training.
- Collecting attendance fees and completing attendance, accident, and accounting reports.
- Supervising health and safety factors of the pool, including first aid.
- Programming and scheduling events at the pool.
- Scheduling and supervising the work of lifeguards and other pool personnel.
- Maintaining personnel records and preparing necessary reports of time worked, assignments, and personnel requirements.
- Assisting with janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance, including daily chemical analysis/testing, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms as needed.
- Supervising in-service training for all personnel, including pre-season meetings of all personnel covering policies and procedures of the City, and safety responsibilities.?

Part-time positions(less than 40 hours per week) are required to participate in the City’s PTC 457 Deferred Compensation Plan per Federal regulations. Employees are required to contribute 3.75% of gross earning and the City contributes a matching amount of 3.75%. The funds contributed by the City are 100% vested upon initial deferral and will be held in in a stability of principal investment. This plan is in lieu of social security and does not include any healthcare benefits or contributions.
