    The City of Irvine seeks a compassionate individual to join the Senior Services division as a Program Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience serving the older adult population and a deep understanding of the needs of older adults and their families.
    Reporting to the Senior Services Supervisor, the Program Specialist leads the staff of the Keen Center for Senior Resources (KCSR) in coordinating linkage, referral, and monitoring services for participants. The Program Specialist will develop and utilize resource databases to recommend older adult community resources and assess benefit eligibility. Additionally, the Program Specialist will oversee the expansion of resource and referral services to other older adult community sites.
    This recruitment will establish an Eligibility List for the Program Specialist position, which will expire on 2/18/26 .

    Your Impact
    • Serve as lead staff to provide consultation, resources, and referrals to older adults and their families.
    • Plan and implement the expansion of current resource and referral services to other older adult community sites.
    • Plan, supervise, coordinate, and implement comprehensive older adult assistance programs.
    • Provide training, supervision, and consultation for the Keen Center staff and volunteers.
    • Prepare, organize, and deliver workshops and training programs for the older adult community.
    • Support current CHAMPIONS training and volunteer management.
    • Investigate and prepare reports on specific requests and complaints within the program area.
    • Develop, update, and implement marketing materials for the Keen Center for Senior Resources.
    • Assist in budget or grant application preparation for a program or project, if needed.
    • Oversee a major computer database and ensure its efficient operation.
    • Support current CHAMPIONS training and volunteer management.
    • Lead the planning and execution of special events.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field with some experience in municipal management, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    • May require a valid California driver's license.

    • A Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field is highly desirable.
    • Maintain strong customer service, organizational, leadership, and marketing skills to prioritize resources, recruit and screen volunteers, and provide exceptional service to the community.

    The Process
