    Job/Department Summary:

    Under general instruction, incumbent provides a full range of clerical and secretarial support to the Provost Office. Day-to-day work is performed with general instructions except for new assignments. Duties include: reception and customer service; event and general office support. Due to the nature of issues/activities handled in the Provost Office, the position requires considerable judgment and discretion in handling complex and confidential issues related to student, faculty, and staff personnel and a variety of interactions at the highest levels within and outside the University.

    The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer of the University responsible to the President for the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan for the Future with a particular emphasis on the creation of high-quality learning environments, faculty and staff development, the wise use of new technologies in learning and teaching, service to others, and an accountability for the strategic use of the resources entrusted to CSU, Chico State by the state of California.

    Required Education and Experience:

    This position requires experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments and should include administrative support, coordinating and prioritizing many different clerical tasks, applying and communicating policies and procedures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and two years recent experience in an office environment.

    Preferences:

    Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
    • Bilingual.
    • Background in English or communication (degree or professional experience.)
    • Working knowledge of applicable University infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

    Time Base: Full-time

    Pay Plan: 12/12

    Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

    *This position is open to on-campus CSU, Chico employees only.


    CSU Classification Salary Range: $40,476 - $59,592 per year.

    Additional Information:
