    A New Opportunity and what you’ll do

    The City of Ventura is now accepting applications for the position of Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Worker (Promotional Only) to support our Water Production operations.

    As an Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational reliability of the City’s water system equipment and facilities. Your duties will include:

    • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, electrical panels, and control systems.
    • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues to maintain efficient operations.
    • Working on low-voltage electrical systems up to 480 volts.
    • Assisting in installations, modifications, and repairs of water system equipment.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
    • Responding to emergency repairs and service calls as needed.

    Incumbent may be required to work stand-by on rotational basis and report to work on a callback basis as needed within a designated time frame. Standby assignment is at the discretion of the Division Head.

    Experience and Qualifications for Success!

    A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to three years experience performing electrical and mechanical repairs and installation on a variety of electrical equipment and working with low electrical voltages up to 480 volts are required. Experience or safety training working around medium electrical voltage (4160 volt) is desirable.

    License: Possession of a valid Class C California driver license is required.
