    The Position

    Napa County is recruiting to establish an Eligibility List for the position of Senior Office Assistant. The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time, part-time, limited term and extra help vacancies as they occur over the 12 months. This list will replace any previously established lists.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    Experience and Education
    To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess the following combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A desirable combination is:

    Experience:
    Three years of significant, directly related and progressive general clerical experience.

    Education:
    Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized clerical training.

    License or Certificate*:
    Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
    Certain positions may require bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills. If bilingual skills are required, applicants will be required to take and pass a bilingual (Spanish) exam.

    THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

    Application Deadline 5:00pm PDT, Friday February 21, 2025. Minimum Qualification Screening Candidates will be screened for minimum qualifications the week of February 24, 2025. Supplemental Question Scoring Tentatively by the week of March 3, 2025
    Supplemental questions will be scored by subject matter experts. Only the most qualified applicants from the scoring of the supplemental questions will move forward.
    Establish Eligible List Tentatively by the week of March 10, 2025 . Candidates who are successful at passed the supplemental questions will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered for current and future vacancies for up to one year.
    The Human Resources Department reserves the right to change the recruitment process at any time.

    SALARY -
    Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.

    A general law county, Napa County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors elected by district for four year terms.
