Assistant Pool Manager

Position Information

The City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for highly motivated people who have a general understanding of aquatics facility health and safety procedures. Specific duties of an Assistant Manager include supervising daily operation of aquatics programs and assisting in training, staff development, scheduling, evaluating and supervising lifeguard staff. Candidates will need to have knowledge in preventing accidents and responding to emergencies, maintaining order of the facility and programs, providing customer service and enforcing rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Guidelines
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:

• Two seasons of aquatics experience serving in an aquatics complex with at least one season in an American Red Cross complex.

License/Certificate:

• Possession a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification including; First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), Administering Emergency Oxygen, Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector, Blood borne Pathogens and Asthma Inhaler Training at time of hire.
• Possession of a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification at time of hire.
• Possession of a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Certification at time of hire.
• Possession of a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification at time of hire.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Certification is desirable.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer Certification is desirable.

• Department Interview - Applicants possessing these requirements may be invited to interview with the Parks and Recreation Department. The interview will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description.
• Pre-Employment - Applicants who are offered a job will be required to pass a TB and HepB screening through their doctor and will be fingerprinted through the City.
• Onboarding - Applicants who have passed all of the pre-employment requirements will then be given an official start date.
