ServMO Deputy Director
Division of Community Solutions - ServMO, Jefferson City, MO
TRAVEL: Up to 15% overnight travel within Missouri
Annual Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

ServMO, guided by the Missouri Community Service Commission, works directly with local partners to change lives for the better! This team member will be responsible for supporting the operations of the Commission, board commissioners, and sub-grantees that receive AmeriCorps funding. This includes supporting national AmeriCorps-related activities, assisting community organizations through education and technical assistance, and engaging in projects that support the activities of the Department of Economic Development to carry out its mission.
Commission Administration and Oversight
• Compile and submit grant progress reports to federal funding agency.
• Host quarterly match tracking meetings and update the Commission’s matching funds documentation accordingly.
• Provide ongoing updates to Commission guiding documents (Program Manual; Commission Policies & Procedures, etc.) and provide first drafts of potential new policies to maintain compliance.
• Organize staff training/strategic planning meetings to ensure all team members are aware of policy updates/changes.
• Support the Executive Director in Commission management and communication.
• Represents the Executive Director in any meetings the Director is unable to attend.
• Assists the Executive Director in the implementation of the Missouri State Service Plan.
• Manage legal contract renewals, border state MOU renewals, and ongoing updates in partnership with the legal department.
• Support the day-to-day administrative functions and operations of the Commission.
National Service Programs Support
• Support the Executive Director in subgrantee strategy through coordination of the Program Director Advisory Committee.
• Oversee the risk-based assessment activities on an annual basis.
o Generate monthly eGrants (Federal grant management system) reports and review for trends and anomalies.
o Support program officers in advance of monitoring visits; assist with visits, as needed.
• Conduct risk-based sampling for AmeriCorps programs, requesting documentation and identifying areas of non-compliance for both high-risk and low-risk grantees.
• Review and finalize Corrective Action Plans when areas of non-compliance are identified; provide a final draft to the Executive Director for approval.
• Conduct and maintain the annual subgrantee close-out process; ensure program officers are trained in related policies and conduct close-out on an annual basis, when applicable.
Fiscal Support
• Create a general ledger.
• Maintain administrative grant budgets; reconcile monthly with ongoing expenditures.
• Compile and submit fiscal reporting to the fiscal department for submission to the federal funding agency.
• Host quarterly match tracking meetings and update the Commission’s matching funds documentation accordingly.
• Review and submit monthly program reimbursement requests.
• Review and submit monthly administrative draw.
Support Activities
• Directly report to the Commission Executive Director.
• Directly supervise one program team member.
• Serve as the liaison to DED and Division committees.
• Attend quarterly Commission meetings statewide.
• Work/perform in a team environment.
• Serve on at least one sub-committee of the Commission.
• Maintain resources (databases, rosters, checklists, website, filing systems) as needed.
• Assist other staff with public events throughout the year (including, but not limited to MLK Day, 9/11 Day, AmeriCorps Week, and National Service Opening Day).
• Perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a preference for 24 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Business or Public Administration, Non-profit management, or a closely related field
• 3+ years of comparable, professional work experience

Competencies:
• Knowledge of community and economic development activities and community development theory.
• Knowledge of national service (AmeriCorps, VISTA, NCCC, Senior Corps).
• Previous experience as an AmeriCorps Member/manager preferred.
• Experience in training facilitation both with internal and external stakeholders.
• Public speaking experience including presentations and workshops. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments without close supervision.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate technical information effectively to applicable audiences.
• Ability to prepare complete and concise reports, inclusive of data analysis and graphical illustrations.
• Ability to travel statewide in the performance of duties.
• Ability to demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the public (local, state, federal, and non-profit organizations) and Department staff.
• Regular volunteering experience preferred.
• Experience managing volunteers preferred.
