    Charleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center is looking for an experienced customer service professional to be the first point of contact for the Emergency Services Building and provide interdepartmental clerical support. Come Save Lives with Us!

    Charleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center Community Services Representative is the first point of contact for customer assistance, provides inter-departmental clerical support, and creates a welcoming and inclusive environment at the Charleston County Emergency Services Building.

    HIRING HOURLY: $15.00 - $17.98

    APPLICATION PROCESS & DEADLINE: Submitted applications are reviewed by the hiring department, on a going basis, prior to the APPLICATION DEADLINE OF: Sunday, February 9, 2025 or sooner if position is filled.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Job functions include:

    * Answers telephone calls, receives and greets visitors to the building and provides information to or refers callers and visitors to the appropriate personnel.

    * Gathers, assembles, updates, distributes, and/or files a variety of information, forms, records, and data as requested.

    * Assists with set-up and clean up for events, presentations, in-services, and meetings at the ESB.

    * Distributes incoming correspondence to the appropriate individuals.

    * Responds to questions, comments, and requests in a courteous and timely manner.

    * Provides excellent internal and external customer service.

    * This is an essential position and required to participate in all departmental activations.

    * Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Non-Negotiables:

    * Must have a positive attitude, proven leadership experience, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate well to a diverse group of people.

    • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or the equivalent.

    • Three to five years of administrative or clerical experience.

    • Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, or possess an Employment Authorization Document (EAD)

    • Must be able to pass a drug test.

    • Must have no felony convictions; misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

    • Pass a background investigation which will include driving record, employment history, education, training verification, illegal conduct (drug use, etc.), and a reference check.

    • Pass a pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation

    • Be able to successfully complete Level IV CJIS Security Awareness Training and within 6 months of date of hire and maintain the certification.

    • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 or obtain within 6 months of the date of hire

    * Ability to learn and use various additional software applications required to complete the functions of the position.

    * Respond positively to a work environment that will change day-to-day, requiring quick departure from and re-organization of one’s schedule, ensuring County employees are receiving the best possible service and items with priority are completed as needed.

    * Consistently abide by established policies and procedures to routine problems. Embrace technology, paperless processes and various system enhancements.

    * Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Windows, Word, etc.
