The Mission of Jefferson County Open Space is to preserve open space and parkland, protect park and natural resources, and provide healthy nature-based experiences.
Under Supervision from the trails Senior Restoration Specialist, will assist with the restoration of unauthorized trail and disturbed areas throughout Jefferson County Open Space parks. This position will work with other trail staff and Open Space teams including Specialist, LTEs, Seasonals, and volunteers to complete projects. While working in the field, may need to convey the importance of outdoor stewardship and provide environmental education related to the project to the general public.
The anticipated hiring range for this role is: $20.00 - $23.00 USD Hourly Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.
This is a Limited position with a projected end date of: 11/20/2025 The employment status is Limited (Fixed-Term) with an anticipated assignment end date after one year and is eligible for medical coverage starting the month after hire.
Essential Duties: - Reclaiming impacted areas using heavy equipment, hand tools and power tools.
- Restoring, maintaining, and monitoring restoration sites throughout Jeffco Open Space properties.
- Conduct vegetation control and construct infrastructure such as stairs, rock walls, and fencing.
- Perform snow removal as needed.
- Assist the Trails Team in trail construction and maintenance projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalentand;
- 1 year of work-related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- One or more years of specific trails maintenance/construction.
- Experience with Natural Resources and/or outdoor education.
- Additional course work in Natural Resource Management, Outdoor Recreation, Park Maintenance or related field.
Additional Job Information:
- Requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license. If you possess an out of state license, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
