    Are you a detail-oriented leader with a passion for ensuring program integrity and accountability? Health and Human Services is seeking a skilled Department Program Auditor Supervisor to lead a team of program auditors in the fight against over issuance, overpayments, and fraud within our Economic Services Programs.

    As the Department Program Auditor Supervisor , you'll play a vital role in guiding a team to maintain the highest level of accuracy in preventing, detecting, and enforcing fraudulent activities. Your leadership will be key to driving productivity through strategic evaluations, regular meetings, and ongoing staff development. You’ll also be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with partner agencies, interpreting and explaining policies to ensure program success.

    Responsibilities of the Department Program Auditor Supervisor include:
    • Provides leadership and supervision over Department Program Auditors
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state and county policies, procedures and guidelines
    • Conducts second party reviews to ensure quality and accuracy of established claims
    • Oversees appropriate actions on claims, local and state hearing to ensure investigation time standards are met per federal, state, and county guidelines
    • Oversees data in NC Fast, Lotus Notes, and Hearing Database for appropriate information to track timeliness and payments
    • Conducts investigations for state referrals and vacant caseloads
    • Provides staff support thorough effective supervision, coaching, and performance management

    The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Three years of job-related experience
    • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

    Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

    • Three (3) years Program Integrity experience within a State or County Economic Services program (Food Nutrition Services, Work First, Family and Children's Medicaid, Adult Medicaid, or Medicaid Special Assistance)
    • Supervisory, Team Leader or Trainer experience within a State or County Department of Health and Human Services
    • NCFAST or similar State or County Economic Benefit system experience at a proficient level
    • Bachelor's degree in related field

    • Skill and ability in coordinating, facilitating, and participating in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments
    • Knowledge of prior and current State and Federal policy in Food and Nutrition program, Work First, Family and Children's Medicaid and Adult Medicaid policies
    • Competent working Knowledge of NCFAST
    • Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs that may be used in organizing data and creating reports
    • Ability to work with staff and clients to achieve desired results
    • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help an employee or groups of employees strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish a task or solve a problem, which in turn should improve job performance
    • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing
    • Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others
    • Ability to facilitate the flow of work for a process or procedure
    • Knowledge of appropriate procedures for collecting and reviewing information
    • Ability to monitor or regulate those procedures, tasks, or activities
    • Ability to plan and support the development of others; Ability to identify knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to fulfill current or future job/role responsibilities effectively
    • Knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures for recruiting, selecting, developing, counseling, disciplining, and evaluating employees’ performances; retaining a diverse workforce
    • Ability to assign work and to establish work rules and acceptable levels of quality and quantity of work
    • Ability to review work and evaluate others’ performances, and to develop individuals’ competencies
