    CAPITAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR (SENIOR)

    The Capital Projects Coordinator (Senior) manages assigned complex County facilities improvement requiring an advanced level knowledge of design, construction, budgeting and scheduling practices to include administering assigned projects for County facilities; and participating in program design, planning and assessment.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    Education
    Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field

    Experience
    Four years of full-time paid experience in an architectural, engineering, real estate project management/development, or managing construction projects with responsibility for cost recommendations, contract administration and quality control.

    Licensing, Certification, and Registration Requirements
    Applicants are required to possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid California Driver’s License, Class C.
    Note : All licenses, certificates and registrations must be kept current while employed in this class.

    • Possession of an Advanced Computer Aided Drafting certification, including 3-D modeling software proficiency, from an accredited academic institution is desired
    • Possession of valid certificate of registration as an Engineer or Architect in the State of California is desired.
    • Possession of certification as a Construction Manager by the Construction Management Association of America or certification as a Construction Manager accredited by the American National Standards Institute is desired

    Capital Projects Coordinator (Senior)

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

    General Services is looking for a Capital Projects Coordinator (Senior) with advanced level experience managing county facilities improvement projects including new construction renovation, space utilization, and capital improvement planning. The role requires strong project management skills, overseeing the entire lifecycle of a project, with a focus on managing consultants and contractors; planning, design, bid and construction phase management; development and management of budgets and schedules. Incumbent may also be responsible for long-range facility planning and studies. The Ideal Candidate is:
    • Experienced in various public project delivery methods such as California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCA) program, Design Build (DB), Job Order Contracting (JOC), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for capital and maintenance public works projects
    • An analytical/strategic thinker with a creative approach to problem-solving, adept in navigating organizational dynamics and politically astute
    • A leader in managing multidisciplinary teams/stakeholders, with a collaborative approach that emphasizes teamwork and effective communication
    • Highly skilled in budgeting, cost control, and scheduling
    • A technical expert proficient in project management, design, financial, and collaboration tools, with a deep understanding of architectural/engineering principles and modern construction practices.
    • Knowledgeable in construction management, design, building systems, real estate development, fiscal management, and project scheduling
    • Strong communicator that bridges gaps between various stakeholders, resolve conflicts, manage expectations, and successfully deliver projects
    • Experienced in ensuring compliance with regulations related to government contracts, competitive bidding, and construction/public works projects.


    SELECTION PROCESS

    02/20/2025 - Deadline to submit application and required documents for first application review. (Applications will be reviewed every 3 weeks thereafter).

    A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college with a major in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field is required for this position. All candidates are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of their college diploma (verifying the degree, date earned and area of specialization) or official/unofficial transcripts (verifying institution, student, date, degree and area of specialization conferred) by the final filing deadline. Candidates who fail to submit their diploma or transcripts by the final filing date may be disqualified from the recruitment.

    VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS
