What You'll Be DoingThe Environmental Services Department has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Environmental Consultant in Watershed!This role supports the
Wake County Sedimentation & Erosion Control and Stormwater Management programs and manages construction projects at different stages of development to ensure compliance with state rules and local regulations/ordinances. Serves as a subject matter expert, fosters collaboration and education of the development community, partner municipalities and residents. Protects environmental quality by reviewing development/construction plans, conducting inspections, issuing permits, responding to customer complaints and enforcing state rules and local ordinances following applicable procedures to ensure continued State delegation of local programs.
NOTE: This position conducts field inspections. A Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record required.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Forestry or related field
- Three years of experience in environmental planning, inspections or engineering
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- NCDOT Level 2 Certified Erosion and Sediment Control/Stormwater Site Manager
- Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ)
- Certified Stormwater Inspector
- Construction (CSI-Construction)
- Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS)
- Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (QPSWPPP)
- EPA’s Construction General Permit (CGP) Site Inspector Training Certificate
