DescriptionThe Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one full-time regular position in the Power Scheduling Department, Electric Resources Division to interpret and administer the District's and other utility entities purchase power agreements.
Any Qualified Individual May Apply. This is a non-exempt position and allocated to the Administrative, Technical and Clerical Bargaining Unit. The list established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill other Power System Analyst vacancies that may occur within the District through January 6, 2026.
Examples of DutiesDuties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Calculate, analyze, verify and ensure the integrity and contract compliance of the District's energy transactions, power purchases and sales of energy, capacity, spin and transmission
- Calculate, analyze, and verify power plant generation and station usage, real and reactive power flows, transmission losses, and deviations
- Analyze and verify power exchange accounts through proper interpretation of contracts
- Negotiate and implement resolution of contract discrepancies
- Research and resolve meter data discrepancies
- Develop financial forecasts of energy transactions, related costs and operation impact
- Assist in design and development of computer programs
- Maintain reports, records, log and operating data to meet District's and other regulatory agency requirements
- Maintain communication with District personnel, other agencies and the public
- Assist in capital and O&M budget

Typical QualificationsAny combination of education, experience, knowledge and abilities may satisfy the necessary minimum qualifications. A typical way to obtain the education, experience, knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of college course work in mathematics, business, accounting or related field.
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in accounting, data analysis, finance, economics or other related field.
Knowledge of: - Mathematics, principles of energy accounting, power interchange transactions and interconnected utility operations
- District safety rules
Ability to:
- Prepare clear, complete and concise reports
- Perform statistical data analysis
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others
Special Requirement: Must have a valid California Class C driver license.
