Job Description
The employee in this position performs professional level work in technical writing, content creation, production and scheduling for all types of MCHCP publications and media.
Department : General Services Multimedia Communications Division
Supervision Received: Work is performed under the general direction of the Multimedia Communications Manager; however, the employee is expected to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of daily work.
FLSA Status: Exempt.
Open Enrollment Projects (updated annually)
Updates, modifies, and prepares Enrollment Guides for both state and public entity members, responsible for publication in print and online formats.
Updates, modifies, and prepares various brochures related to open enrollment, responsible for printed publication and formatting for the web prior to open enrollment distribution deadlines.
Updates, modifies, and designs forms necessary for members to enroll or change their enrollment in any of the benefit plans, responsible for publication in print and online formats.
Designs and creates fliers, signs, posters, and table banners as needed for presentations and displays.
Clinical Projects
Works with members of the Clinical Department to create, design, modify, and update various forms of displays, communication pieces, and presentations for various campaigns and projects. This includes electronic newsletters; PowerPoint presentations and videos; forms, fliers, and brochures; business cards; and web pages.
Create and update material for the Bulletin Board Kit, upload information to the Ambassador porta.
Create design for t-shirts; coordinates with staff for ordering final product.
Ensures final products meet requirements and expectations including estimating costs, writing specifications.
Maintains mailing list of printing and graphics vendors and related suppliers.
Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive computer knowledge required, including knowledge of and experience with: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site and the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
General knowledge of prepress, preflight, general printing and binding techniques to ensure cost-effectiveness when working with outside vendors.
Knowledge of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, podcasts, webcasts, videos, online communities and e-learning tools desired.
Ability to translate complex, technical information and present it to members in an easily understandable and member-friendly manner.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform work independently and under pressure to provide quality results in limited time frames that meet deadlines.
Ability to take oral and written directions and use independent judgment in accomplishing required tasks.
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to serve as a productive team member while establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with MCHCP management, MCHCP staff, and vendors.
Ability to set and adhere to project timelines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all MCHCP information and records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable laws and regulations.
Ability to project a professional image through oral and written communication and appearance.
Ability to demonstrate integrity and high degree of ethics.
Requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
Excellent work history and attendance record required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major in graphic design, fine arts, commercial art or closely related field. Technical and professional experience in the field of graphic design or commercial art may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Minimum of two years’ experience designing publications, producing press-ready documents and developing innovative presentation materials using state-of-the-art software. Experience with electronic and print publications required.

Identifies, researches, writes, edits and produces content for MCHCP publications and media including, but not limited to, website, videos, emails, newsletters, manuals, brochures, presentations and other communication tools.
Coordinates and schedules the review and editing of publications and projects to ensure accuracy and consistency, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
Ensures communications and messages are accurate and appropriate for target audience and adhere to MCHCP and Associated Press style guidelines.
Participates in meetings with communications staff and other MCHCP staff to plan communication projects by contributing ideas and feedback.
Drafts, reviews and updates website and social media content.
Edits and designs publications using graphic design software.
Creates educational presentations and short videos.
Gathers member and employee feedback on communication efforts; conducts surveys as needed.
Analyzes and evaluates the communications program and recommends changes.
Drafts and accurately responds to social media messages and other inquiries.
Keeps apprised of MCHCP services and benefits with sufficient knowledge to communicate effectively.
Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major in English, communications, journalism, public relations or closely related field.
Minimum of two years professional communications experience.
