This position will be located at 1730 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
- Manage illegal dumping cases in accordance with the Missouri Solid Waste Management Law (MSWML), other state regulations.
- Conduct on-site evaluations of illegal waste disposal sites and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies for action.
- Provide technical guidance for waste management to citizens and/or facilities; and assist management of enforcement related projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders that may include citizens, state and federal partners, responsible parties, non-government agencies, attorneys, and other cooperative partners.
- Evaluate, coordinate, and manage enforcement cases with 5 regional offices.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Criminal Investigation : Knowledge of the guidelines, regulations, and procedures associated with criminal investigation, including evidence detection and handling and drawing appropriate factual inferences and conclusions.

- Planning and Evaluating : Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
- Legal, Government, and Jurisprudence : Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, legal practices and documents, Government regulations, Executive orders, agency rules, Government organization and functions, and the democratic political process.
- Law : Knowledge of State and federal laws, including legal and court procedures, regulations, guidelines, precedents, admissibility of evidence, case preparation, and/or settlements for applicable areas of law practiced or supported.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience; Preferred degree programs include any of the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
