    INITIAL INTERVIEWS FOR SELECTED CANDIDATES WILL BE HELD THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 24TH.


    Nevada County is seeking to hire a Senior Information Systems (IS) Analyst for the Desktop Team Supervisor role. This includes, coordinating the IS training program and providing analytical evaluation of IS team performance.

    Under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager, this position will use their technical and leadership experience to support our enterprise vision of excellent services by aiding and guiding the Desktop Services Team and by implementing and being responsible for training and support programs that seek to enhance County employee use and function of technology systems. The responsibilities of this position may include acting as a project coordinator to assist the IS team.

    This position will be integrated into the leadership team of the IS department, participating in direction-setting and strategic visioning, identifying quality issues, and recommending resolutions. There will be strong interaction with the IS team to review feedback from various teams and to develop objectives and goals that enhance our customer’s experience. Key attributes of the leadership expectations include adopting a “servant leadership” demeanor and demonstrating strong alignment to our core values.
    Qualified candidates generally have experience in these primary areas:
    • Staff Supervision
    • IT Service Management (ITIL)
    • Program administration
    • Project Management

    The ideal Team Member is well-rounded, possessing strong customer service and team leadership experience, project management capability, and program administration skills. Training will be provided for specific technologies, so prior experience is not as important as a willingness to grow and learn. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.

    Education and Experience Required

    Education:

    -Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in computer science, information technology, business administration, geographic information systems, geography, or a closely related field with an emphasis on information systems

    Experience:

    -Three years of experience working at a level comparable to a Nevada County Information Systems Analyst II or Geographic Systems Analyst II.

    -Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis for up to two years.

    Retirement
    The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and also provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.

    CalPERS Miscellaneous Tiers: Tier 1 (Classic-former employee originally hired on or before 12/13/12 and are returning to Nevada County) 2.7% @ 55 Tier 2 (Hired by a CalPERS employer between 12/14/12-12/31/12 and coming to Nevada County with less than 6 months between separation from former CalPERS employer and hire date with Nevada County) 2%@60 Tier 3 (Hired by first CalPERS employer on or after 1/1/13 or having a break in service of more than six months between another CalPERS employer and Nevada County) 2%@62
