    Full-time position available with the Health Department, Aim4Peace Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Hours may vary based on workload and scheduled events

    Responsibilities

    • Connects the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division with various community stakeholders and overseeing the Aim4Peace program's youth violence prevention efforts.
    • Builds and maintains relationships between the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division and various community organizations, faith-based groups, schools, hospitals, and businesses.
    • Manages the daily operations of the Aim4Peace Program's youth violence prevention efforts, managing funds, grants, supervising staff, and handling complex administrative tasks.
    • Often works non-regular work hours, including weekends and evenings.
    • Serves as a liaison between the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division and other programs, departments, agencies, and community groups.
    • Represents the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division in meetings and conferences involving city officials, the general public, and private groups.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with community, faith-based, residential, and nonprofit organizations, schools, hospitals, and businesses to support the Aim4Peace Program.
    • Coordinates with hospitals and first responders to deploy personnel strategically according to the Cure Violence model.
    • Ensures efficient daily operation of the Aim4Peace Program's youth violence prevention efforts, including funding oversight and grant management.
    • Supervises assigned staff and coordinate projects, promotions, and grant deliverables.
    • Performs operations analysis, manage budgets, handle personnel matters, and ensure compliance with operating rules and regulations.
    • Performs related duties as required.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR an accredited Master's degree in Public Health and two (2) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.; OR a High School Diploma and eight (8) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
