    Overview

Are you curious if Criminal Justice is the right field for you? Are you taking college courses and looking for some part-time experience in the Criminal Justice field? Then our Community Justice Worker Temp position is for you!

The Community Justice Worker Temp position is a great way to get your foot in the door with Community Justice Alternatives and provides invaluable knowledge of our processes! Many of our temp workers are eventually promoted into our full-time Community Justice Specialist positions, so this is a great place to start for part-time work, with the possibility of being promoted to full-time after graduation or when your obligations are free up for full-time employment.

In this position, you could be assigned to any of the following units:
    • Community Corrections Department - an agency that works to reintegrate felony clients into the local community.
    • Alternative Sentencing's Pretrial Unit -an agency that supervises and monitors people before they are sentenced.
    • Alternative Sentencing's Work Release - a residential program that allows clients sentenced to County Jail time to serve ordered days while working or attending school.
Working in any of these units would give you direct experience working with clients in a criminal justice setting. Work tasks could include assisting with drug/alcohol screening, providing emergency and/or court transportation services, or various tasks to support each unit.
