We are currently recruiting to fill several Support Care Assistant positions to work in Individualized Supported Living (ISL)/Waiver homes located in Higginsville, Lexington and Warrensburg areas. This is entry level direct care work involving the care and treatment of adults with developmental disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years old. One or more years of work experience or self-employment; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency. Job Duties: Observes, reports, and assists in recording changes in the physical condition, behavioral response, and emotional status of clients; assists in providing basic health care for clients; check vital signs, and apply simple dressings; maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities; administers medication after completing training that is provided by the agency; uses state vehicles to transport clients to appointments and activities; assists clients in participating in activities (fishing, shopping, going to the movies, out to eat etc.) with the clients; assists clients with meals, bathing, grooming, etc. as needed.
Skills Needed: Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for clients; understand and follow directions; accurately report and record observations; accept and adapt to changes in assignments, methods, and policies; establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, supervisors, and the public, exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of job duties.
