Job Summary Salary : $23.88- $30.45 OFFICE OF CITY COMMISSIONERS: Performs technical work in creating marketing and social media content for City Commissioners. Primary duties include developing and posting engaging and informative web content and maintaining social media accounts. Employee is expected to exercise independent judgement, discretion, and initiative in performance of duties. Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Being on the team involves:
- community engagement
- constituent services (responding to constituents at events, social media comments/direct messages, etc.)
- staffing the Commissioner
- staff support: answering calls to the office as well as managing voice message systems, maintaining spreadsheets, and coordination of community events
- The job occasionally necessitates working outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field and one (1) year experience in website content development and/or social media management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of CMS best practices, social media/web trends and some familiarity with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License required depending on area of assignment. This is a full-time CONTRACT position with the same benefits as Regular full-time. Most contracts are renewable for terms of one year. - Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
