This position will be located at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Air Pollution Control Program, 1659 East Elm St., Jefferson City, MO .
Duration of Assignment: May 16, 2025 through August 8, 2025.
- Identify twenty-eight locations across the State of Missouri to place PM 2.5 ambient air monitoring sensors. The sensors will be used to help educate individuals about particle air pollution and expand the amount of information available in Missouri related to PM 2.5 .
- Identify state, county, and/or local government agencies that want to participate in a PM 2.5 sensor loan program.
- Assist participants in the sensor loan program with the installation of the sensors and help them troubleshoot sensor performance issues.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student with a college or university.
- Working towards a scientific degree such as atmospheric science, engineering, environmental science, math, chemistry, and/or physics. Other scientific backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to w rite in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
- Ability to e xpress information to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information . Abi lity to listen to others, attend to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to o rganize work, set priorities, determine resource requirements, and coordinate with other organizations .
