    Job Summary

    Starting Salary:

    $19.01 - $24.40

    Nature of Work:

    Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment. Performs tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.

    Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Ability to read, write and follow instructions, plus two years experience in the operation of two or more of the following:
    • Excavator
    • Large Tractor Loader / Backhoe, Large
    • High Velocity Cleaner with Sewer Vacuum Trailer
    • Bulldozer
    • Fifth Wheel Tractor with Lowboy Trailer
    • Street Sweeper
    • Front-end Loader, over 3 cubic yards
    • Third Axle dump truck

    or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Florida Commercial Driver License Class A required.

    FLORIDA COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE (CLASS A) OR EQUIVALENT FROM ANOTHER STATE MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. APPLICANTS WHO CANNOT PRESENT VALID CDL WILL NOT RECEIVE AN INTERVIEW.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
