EXAMPLES OF DUTIESUnder direction, coordinates, inspects and reports on all oil drilling, workover, production and water injection operations conducted by the City or its contractors; coordinates the bidding operations on all phases of construction work; coordinates the oil field equipment control program; coordinates the operation of the City's injection water supply program and injection facilities; coordinates implementation of contractor emergency response plan; performs periodic safety and environmental assessments as needed; gathers, analyzes and prepares operating data and estimates for production operations and engineering evaluation; coordinates support operations, such as elevation surveying; coordinates oil gauging activities between stakeholders; performs other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS TO FILEBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, natural science or a closely related field

AND Three (3) years of paid full-time equivalent experience in reservoir and/or petroleum drilling, production, and facilities operations.
Opportunity for Substitution of Education or Experience Additional experience offering specific and substantial preparation for the duties of the position may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to seven (7) years.

- Knowledge of Health Safety Environmental best practices;
- Ability to utilize office software;
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with stakeholders and contractors;
- Ability to effectively analyze and summarize oilfield data;
- Ability to perform fieldwork at multiple work locations.
Willingness to work overtime, weekend and/or holiday hours and/or during health emergencies as needed.
A valid driver’s license, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel, may be required for some assignments.

Screening of applicants will be conducted on the basis of application and required supplemental application submitted. This selection procedure will be conducted using a non-competitive process, which means applications are evaluated solely on training, experience, education, or certification. All applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be place on an eligible list. Applicants receiving Veteran’s Credit will be placed on the eligible list first and then in the order in which applications were filed. The resulting eligible list remain in effect for at least one year. Based on the number of applications accepted, the selection procedure may be changed. In the event a revision is necessary, the affected persons will be notified.
