• This position provides direct support to the VNY Maintenance Division with the following duties:
Inspects buildings, equipment, and grounds to locate conditions needing maintenance and repair work, independently performs a variety of maintenance, alteration, and repair. Additionally, performs construction activities on buildings, grounds, airfield, and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs lo facilities as needed
• Drives utility trucks and operates equipment like forklifts, etc. (on-the-job training provided) maintains tools and supplies on truck.
• Inspects, repairs and installs perimeter fencing, as needed. Carries heavy materials up to 70 Ibs and occasionally over 70 lbs.
• Researches, contacts, and coordinates with vendors for work that is needed at VNY.
• Maintains and stores tools, equipment and materials. Responsible for daily shop up-keep.
All candidates must complete and submit the regular City application at the time of fling. Candidates who fail to submit the City Application within the time required will not be considered further in the interview process and their application will not be processed.
NOTE: Work will be primarily performed on day shift. Occasional need to perform work on swing shift may be required to meet operational needs.
