Job Summary Performs responsible, professional, administrative, technical, and supervisory work with responsibility for traffic control plan design and approval; the review, approval, and coordination of street, lane, or sidewalk closure authorization and right of way utilization permits; coordinating special event activities relating to traffic control; and ensuring compliance with work zone traffic control plans. Responsible for conducting training programs for work zone traffic safety for City of Orlando employees, contractors, and utility companies. Work is performed under the supervision of the Traffic Operations Engineer and the City Transportation Engineer. Work is reviewed through discussions, reports submitted, and section accomplishments.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and at least two (2) years experience in traffic operations, including the design of traffic control plans for construction work zones and special events, two (2) years of which must have been in a management or supervisory capacity
required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License
required. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Advanced Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) or Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification
required within three (3) months of hire. International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Signs and Markings/Signal Certification desired.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
