OverviewLarimer County Department of Natural Resources is seeking skilled and hard-working individuals to join our team as Park Ranger Supervisor Temps!
This position handles day-to-day operations of parks, reservoirs, and open lands. Other responsibilities include developing, planning, and coordinating the delivery of services and programs.
Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands by providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the natural and agricultural heritage of Larimer County for present and future generations.
This is a temporary full-time position lasting up to 10 months, with assignments at various locations. The schedule may include varied hours, including weekends and holidays.

ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Supervising seasonal staff, providing guidance and oversight to ensure smooth operations.
- Providing information and directions to the public to enhance their experience in parks and open spaces.
- Investigating and resolving visitor complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensuring public safety, protecting natural resources, and promoting the enjoyment of parks and open space areas.
- Explaining and enforcing rules and regulations to park visitors to safeguard and preserve natural, historic, and cultural features, sites, and structures.

What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in routine software and business applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees, representatives from other agencies and organizations, and community members.
- Consistent, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Understanding of the principles and practices of effective natural resource management, ranger services, and implementation of natural resource management strategies.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Six (6) months of experience in park, Natural Resources, law enforcement, or a directly related field required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
- Possession of a valid CPR and First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire required.
- EMT or 1st Responder Certification preferred.
- Must Successfully complete training program which may include Ranger Excellence School, Field Training, and/or Boat Academy.
