This senior-level position within the Accounting Technician series involves performing complex and specialized clerical accounting tasks. The role requires a deep understanding of bookkeeping principles and public agency accounting procedures.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.

ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Supervising and providing guidance to assigned accounting clerical staff, either directly or indirectly.
- Entering data into computers, ledgers, and other accounting records, and utilizing computer-generated reports to reconcile documents and cash.
- Maintaining accurate accounting summaries.
- Preparing basic financial reports and projections of funds.
- Processing and verifying payroll records and related information.
- Balancing daily cash transactions and auditing recap reports.
- Preparing bank deposits and reconciling bank statements.
- Collaborating with data processing teams to correct and enhance computer information and reports.
- Assisting other employees with bookkeeping methods and procedures.
- Implementing and maintaining organized and efficient filing systems.
- Researching clerical accounting issues and recommending procedures to resolve them.
- Gathering and calculating data for departmental budgets.
- Training, directing, and monitoring the work of other employees as needed.

What we're looking for:
- Experience with entering hours, making corrections to timesheets, and updating employee profile information.
- Ability to review the Payroll General Ledger Detail Report to ensure accurate and proper coding.
- Skill in verifying data entered by credit cardholders and providing assistance as needed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between credit cardholders and the finance team regarding credit limits.
- A candidate with payroll processing experience (preferred).
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to notice and address minor discrepancies.
- Strong ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Three (3) years of experience maintaining financial and statistical records in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
