    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Line Service Representative position. This position performs essential aircraft support services such as fueling, towing, and safety checks, while ensuring a safe and efficient ramp environment. Further, this position plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service to pilots, passengers, and other stakeholders. Individuals in this role will collaborate with airport operations staff, tenants, and aviation professionals to support smooth aircraft operations and enhance the overall airport experience at the County's General Aviation airports, Henderson Executive Airport and/or North Las Vegas Airport.

    This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

    This recruitment will be used to fill positions at Henderson Executive Airport, located at 3500 Executive Terminal Drive, Henderson, NV 89052 and/or North Las Vegas Airport, located at 2730 Airport Drive, North Las Vegas, NV 89032.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:

    Equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of full-time aircraft ground servicing and fueling experience. Must remain current in an FAA approved Line Service training program (NATA Safety 1st Professional Line Service Training) and complete all CCDOA training as required.

    Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.

    Working Conditions: Work out of doors in all weather conditions. Work with exposure to high noise and potentially hazardous fuels, lubricants and other materials. Work scheduled off-hours shifts. Work out of doors in all weather conditions.

    Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire. Specified positions may require CDL License. A valid Food Handler Safety Training Card issued by the Southern Nevada Health District is required, and must be maintained at all times during employment in this title.

    Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.

    Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

    Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

    Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

    Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Note: all prospective hires must present two original government issued ID's upon acceptance of job offer. Examples of acceptable ID's include a Passport, Driver's License or DMV issued ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, Voter Registration card, school issued ID with picture, etc.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Mobility to work in a typical shop or field related maintenance setting, including operating typical fueling and servicing equipment, hand and power tools and standard office equipment; stamina to stand, walk, climb and drive a motor vehicle; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over a radio or telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    Fuels various types of aircraft, using mobile refueling equipment; accurately records, reports, and maintains written records of fuel service provided. Tests fuel deliveries to ensure quality; tests and inspects stored fuel in accordance with FAA guidelines. Tracks fuel orders on a daily basis; calculates the balances fuel usage at the end of each shift. Services aircraft using specialized equipment for nitrogen, aviator breathing oxygen, towing, potable water, lavatory, GPU/APU, interior cleaning, windscreen cleaning, etc. Responsible for the serviceability, cleanliness, and safety of aircraft fueling and servicing equipment (GSE); makes regular equipment safety inspections, completes the maintenance required and/or reports and documents needed for repair. Meets, directs, and marshalls transient aircraft to the appropriate ramp areas; ensures that aircraft are tied down and secured, and/or have wheels chocked as necessary and not subject to inadvertent movement. Inspects movement and non-movement areas, removes FOD and debris from the runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, ramp areas, and other airside locations as necessary. Works as a team member, assists and trains other team members as necessary. Assists customers and crew with baggage handling and catering; provides information regarding surface transportation, and provides other reasonable services as requested. Receives bulk fuel storage shipments, performs fuel density calculations and quality control checks, and completes required documentation. Assists air traffic control in maintaining the security of the movement area. Keeps unauthorized personnel away from the movement area including runways, taxiways, taxi lanes, and aircraft parking areas. Reports suspicious incidents immediately to the proper authorities. Assists in the conduct of the Airport Emergency Plan, removes disabled aircraft from movement, non-movement and immediate vicinity using specialized equipment. Assists public safety personnel as directed in emergency situations. Maintains accurate records regarding work performed and services provided. Performs spill containment and clean-up of various petroleum products and other liquid hazards. Thoroughly documents, photographs, and reports all incidents that occur on airport property. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Uses standard office equipment in the completion of daily work. Operates a variety of motor vehicles during the performance of daily duties and work tasks.
