This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm St. Jefferson City, Missouri. Work assignments are located over a large geographic area of Missouri that will require travel and overnight stays during the workweek.
- Complete skilled work assignments in the operation of medium to heavy equipment used in earth moving, construction and maintenances; including tractors, bulldozers, draglines, road graders, cranes, aerial devices, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, dump trucks and other types of medium to heavy equipment.
- Loading, transporting, and unloading medium to heavy equipment effectively and safely.
- Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed, or requested.
- Perform manual work requiring heavy lifting, reaching, and bending.
- Perform minor Maintenance (i.e. Grease) and maintain a Preventative maintenance Schedule.
- Work Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour days per week) 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
As a special requirement, this position is required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License, Class A. If you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months from the first day of employment to obtain necessary license/certification.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Must be able to travel and stay overnight during the work week, i.e. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights.
- Compliance with random drug and alcohol testing required.
- Ability to understand and complete assignments received orally or by written orders from sketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints.
- Ability to operate, load, transport, and unload a variety of medium to heavy equipment.
- Possess and apply load securement knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Four to six years of on-the-job training in operation of medium to heavy construction equipment.
