    Lead Customer Service Representative (Supervisory)

    (Position #5335-5022093)

    Department of Revenue - Business Tax Bureau- Excise Tax

    Bi-Monthly Salary: $1,694.20 Annual Salary: $ 40,660.80

    Location: 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO

    HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    Are you up for a challenge and do you like a diverse workload? Then this position is great for you! The person in this position will provide direct supervision to team members that license motor fuel distributors, wholesalers and suppliers, process motor fuel tax reports and issue motor fuel tax refund requests which directly impacts the distribution of motor fuel tax funds used to build and maintain the roads and bridges across the state of Missouri.

    RESPONSIBILITES - WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this title.

    • Oversee the processing of motor fuel tax refund claims, returns and licensing new businesses.

    • Address telephone and e-mail inquiries from motor fuel tax licensees regarding registration and reporting issues.

    • Supervise, educate, monitor, and obtain feedback from team members to improve processes.

    • Establish and maintain ongoing positive working relationships by communicating effectively.

    • Review and generate employee production reports to ensure help team members meet their full potential.

    • Monitor workflow and adjust priorities based on backlogs.

    • Train new team members and cross train current team members.

    • Conduct monthly team member performance meetings and evaluations.

    • Perform other related work or special projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Possess a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency (GED).

    • Four or more years of experience in licensing, registration, collections, tax preparation, tax processing, accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or closely related work. (Substitutions may be allowed).

    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
